This LGBT+ History Month (U.K.) S P Clark is sharing 20 new poems to mark the 20th anniversary of this historic celebration of the LGBT+ community and its contribution to society. Each poem celebrates S P Clark's own journey navigating his way through the world as a member of the LGBT+ Community. The following poems look at solidarity in the face of hate, and also the ignominy often experienced at the same time.

Discrimination
Written to coincide with LGBT+ History Month (U.K.) 2025
As forked-tongues poison our community with hate-fuelled words
We can stand hand-in hand against the vilification
As the spite spears forth from the mouths of our oppressors
We can stand hand-in-hand and expose our concomitant love
As they declamatorily deny the existence of our transgender brothers and sisters
We can stand hand-in-hand safe in the aegis of our togetherness
As we’re demeaned and preached pompously over by those bloviating blokes and birds
We can stand hand-in-hand (this undeterred pride-fuelled band) and trample discrimination.
Under Threat
Written to coincide with LGBT+ History Month (U.K.) 2025
More and more we’re being harmed
Hate is on the rise
It’s so easy to see the fear creeping back into my eyes.
More and more our rights are under threat
Rolling them back and ripping them from the books of law
Our safe places are closing and I see so many start to withdraw.
More and more we’re being hushed
Shame reclaimed its place
It’s harder to hide the anger and absurd to walk with grace.
