Reflections
Written to coincide with LGBT+ History Month (U.K.) 2025
As my pillow floods with tears and the water flows
In the ravines I see reflections of those who used to bang at my closet door
I hear the voices of the heroes who went before
Shouting come out and see the sunshine
See the rainbow as it leads to your pot filled with gold
See all the joy and wonder that this world could behold.
I heard the distant echoes of Rivera raging strong
Divine, Tatchell and the music of Coward playing on
The words of Wilde rampaging around my head
Words showing me what the future could be instead of fear.
I owe so much to those who came before to help me find my treasure
I don't regret a single moment having lived for pleasure.
