The second poem that I am sharing with you today builds upon the feelings of doubt, hopelessness and destinationless that I explored earlier in "48°52.6′S 123°23.6′W". The fear that develops from being underwhelmed by one's own acheivements, one's own situation and one's own mistakes, well...it can be quite difficult to journey with.

The Day Will Come
A Poem by Simon Clark
The day will come when I'll look around the home and realise that I’m the only one left,
No girlfriend or boyfriend,
No children,
No fight and no prospect of success.
The paper peeling on the walls,
The last bulb blown,
No one to cry with,
No one to talk with,
No one to lift me,
No one to shield me,
No one.
The day will come when I‘ll look around the home and remember the moments that won’t repeat,
No comfort or support,
No challenge,
No hope and there’s no prospect of love.
The writing written on the walls,
The card’s been dealt,
No one to hold near,
No one to keep near,
No one to touch me,
No one to soothe me,
No one.
