The journey did not and cannot end with the writing of these books. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, with today (7th April) being the Day of Action. It felt appropriate to share a new poem as his journey continues.
One Step Forward

One step forward
Two steps back
October 2022 destroyed me
Clearly showed the cracks
Each time I think I’m better placed to cope with all the strain
Mister R returns again and overtakes my brain.

Changed how I feel
Changed it all
October 2022 altered life
Stopped me standing tall
Each time I think that I’m able to breathe the air and relax
Mister R returns along with panic attacks.

One step forward
Five steps back
October 2022 hijacked joy
Everything turned black
Each time I think the battle has been won and overcome
Mister R returns loud-pounding his zhangu drum.

Changed how I feel
Changed my path
October 2022 damaged me
Clearly showed its wrath
Each time I think I’m better placed to cope with all the hurt
Mister R returns again and leaves me in the dirt.
