A new poem by S P Clark.

The School Project

A Poem by S P Clark

“Children, I want you to make your dream house out of things you have at home.  No help from Mum and Dad allowed.”

The cardboard refracting light against the paper towers

The grass made of felt and blooming pipe-cleaner flowers

The gravel‘s just silver glitter sparkling under the rays from a battery candle

The windows made of sheets of crepe paper blue

The door a bourbon biscuit and the climbing ivy the laces of a shoe

The café tables from pizza savers and the gallery frames from buckles on a sandal.

Dad did all the work.
