Storm of Life

"Kindness is the only service that will stand the storm of life and not wash out" – Abraham Lincoln

As the winds of life swarm and circle all about

And the cyclone twists your heart and pulls you down

As the ravages of the blowing gale tears you up and rips you from your roots

And the squall of rain dampens your spirit and drowns your soul

As the tempest violently roars and trick-slippery-slickens the floor

And the cloudbursts erupt and torrentially dampen and darken your door

...

Just one word of kindness, or a helping hand through the deluge

Helps you stand taller, freer, lifts you up, heals and restores.
