After a life-changing moment in October 2022, it has taken a long time to reach a better place. Largely thanks to those around him, S P Clark has been able to rebuild and begin to move forward. In a few days time he has asked some of those people to join him for an evening of drinks and laughter to demonstrate his unending gratitude. However, what that monster left behind is also unending; the sharing of this gratitude has reminded him of what occurred. Good days and bad days have happened and will continue to happen, and that's a reality that S P Clark must come to terms with. In that vein he wrote these words.

Endless

A Poem by S P Clark

Oh, Mister R. It's endless what you've left me with.

How can I say thank you when, despite their help, I still hurt?

An endless wound that leaves me wandering alone

An outlier

A solivagant

Treading a path of endless dread

Dreading the path I'm bound to tread.

Thoughts. So many thoughts.

Endless.

Oh, Mister R. It's endless what you've left behind.

How can I say love you when, despite their love, it still kills?

An endless pain that leaves me travelling alone

A dissenter

A meanderer

Walking a road of endless fear

Fearing the path I'm bound to steer.

Thoughts. Countless thoughts.

Endless.

Oh, Mister R. It's endless what you've created.

How can I say need you when, despite their warmth, I still break?

Endless.

It's endless.

No end.

No...
