His Footsteps: Capt. Sir Tom Moore
A Poem By Simon Clark
Written on 2nd February 2021 following the death of Capt. Sir Tom Moore.
He’s reached the end of his storm,
After a century of giving, risking, and caring,
We still hear the pattern of his footsteps,
We can feel his mission repairing.
He’s touching his golden sky,
Leaving behind 32 million chances to live,
His marching footsteps, they can still be heard,
His glimmering hope; transformative.
He’s listening to the lark,
While his own silver song lifts us out of the dusk and fear,
His footsteps echo through hospital halls,
Alone at home there’s a silent tear.
His footsteps are never alone,
Generations will tread in the prints that he’s left behind,
The Last Post plays to the beat of his walk,
Thank your Sir Tom; pure heart, rare soul – kind.
